Q: What happened to your church building?

A: On October 30, 2008, a fire caused by a faulty dehumidifier began beneath our stage and spread rapidly throughout the building. Our auditorium and bell towers (a) were completely destroyed. The central part of our building (b) was heavily damaged by heat and water. The educational wing (c) was mostly spared and continued to serve as our offices.

Q: What has been done so far?

A: The surviving portion of our building has been remodeled as our new auditorium and community space. After nearly a year of continuous work, thousands of man hours, and a lot of generous help from our community, we are now able once again to hold gatherings in this amazing new space. But there's still work to be done! Our current project is to clean up the rubble pile of our collapsed auditorium and bell tower, and to restore and renovate the River House parsonage adjacent to it.

Q: How can I help?

A: We continue to have work parties every Saturday in the effort to clean up the rubble and restore the River House, and we can always use as much help as we can get!

Q: When will the rubble finally be cleared away?

A: Our goal is to have the cleanup finished by late October, so that any remaining exposed areas can be weather-proofed for winter.
